Agnieszka Tyszka - DKK meeting

As we announced, today (October 13, 2020) exceptional meetings took place in Luziny schools - literary workshops with Agnieszka Tyszka as part of the Book Discussion Club.

The meetings began with an unusual check of the attendance list. Each student was asked to name the title and author of their favorite book, thus indicating that they were a real reader. The writer talked about where she gets ideas for her works, revealing that the book "Róże w garage" was inspired by the adventures of her children.

Then our guest subjected the students to subsequent tasks, which consisted of deciphering the children's language of Lolo, one of the heroes of "Roses in the garage" and answering the question of where the imagination lives. The students also had the opportunity to test their fantasy, such a task allowed to stimulate creativity and confirmed that it is worth using and exercising your imagination. The most enthusiastic, of course, was the discussion about the book series "Zosia z ulica Kociej", which was translated into Lithuanian. The children asked the author questions about the writer's workshop, favorite readings, looking for ideas for new books and the selection of illustrations. What do books give us? They amuse, laugh, educate, stimulate the imagination, heal, scare, and transport them in a place and time. Once - the only window to the world, a source of great inspiration, dreams, detachment from reality. They create in our minds our own worlds, experiences and thoughts which we ourselves create. The author of the book poured thoughts and words onto a piece of paper - but we make these words create beautiful dream lands in our imagination. Very rarely in the modern world, during a pandemic, we have the opportunity to meet the authors of books, but thanks to the favor of the library in Gdańsk, we were able to organize such literary workshops.

At the end of the workshop, students could get autographs in a newly purchased book and take a photo with the author.
